ICSE Board Exams News Live Updates: CISCE Postpones Class XII And Class X Exams Due to Covid-19; Final Decision in June

The Central government ICSE Board Exams News Live Updates: The CISCE announced to postpone board exams for class 12th, while it made written exam optional for class 10 board exams. The decision on the dates for board exams will be taken on June 1 after reviewing the covid situation. Unlike CBSE, CISCE has given students an option to appear for the class 10 exam. CBSE had cancelled the exams altogether and decided to assess students based on a new scheme. For class 10 students, who opt out of written exams to be held at a later stage will be assessed based on an “unbiased criterion” says the board.
Last year, when CISCE had cancelled the exams, it assessed students based on three parameters, an average of marks obtained in the exams held till then, subject practical, and internal assessment. While a similar practice is expected to be followed, the Council is yet to inform the assessment criteria that would be followed this year. So far none of the class 10 exams has been held. For class 12, two papers were conducted.
Earlier, after the meeting between the Education Minister and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, it was decided to put off CBSE class 12 exams and cancel exams for class 10 students due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Soon after the decision of CBSE, the CISCE chief had said, “The Board will make a decision regarding class 10th and 12th CISCE Board exams 2021, and will inform all concerned at the earliest.”
